Basketball Recap: Culver Community Takes a Loss

Culver Community lost against North Judson-San Pierre back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Culver Community Cavaliers took a 39-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of the North Judson-San Pierre Bluejays. While losing is never fun, the Cavaliers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 203rd, while the Bluejays are ranked 95th).

Kyleigh Lehiy was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 18 boards for North Judson-San Pierre. The dominant performance gave Lehiy a new career-high in rebounds. Another player making a difference was Shiloh DeBoard, who posted 15 points and three steals.

Culver Community's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for North Judson-San Pierre, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 10-2.

Culver Community won't have much time to rest: their next game is against South Bend Career Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for North Judson-San Pierre, they will head out to challenge West Central at 6:30 p.m. on December 27th.
