Basketball Recap: Stargate School Comes Up Short

Stargate School lost against Prospect Ridge Academy back in December of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Stargate School Eagles took a 47-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Prospect Ridge Academy Miners. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Stargate School still got an impressive performance from Sloan Kunz, who went 5-for-9 en route to 13 points and seven steals. Stargate School is 4-2 when Kunz posts five or more steals, but 2-14 otherwise. Ava Ridgell was another key player, going 5-for-10 to rack up 10 points.

Prospect Ridge Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Amelia Waggoner out in front who almost dropped a double-double with 19 points and nine boards. What's more, Waggoner posted four assists, the most she's had since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kayah Robbins, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 19 rebounds.

Stargate School's defeat dropped their record down to 6-16. As for Prospect Ridge Academy, their victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-18.

Stargate School didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 39-34 loss against Arrupe Jesuit on the 27th. Prospect Ridge Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
