There's no place like home for Cherokee, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They put the hurt on the Vina Red Devils with a sharp 42-22 victory on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Indians have posted since November 17, 2023.

Despite the loss, Vina saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Makenzie Elrod posted 15 points. Elrod is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for four straight games.

Cherokee moved to 5-13 with that victory, which also ended their five-game losing streak. As for Vina, they dropped their record down to 4-22 with the defeat, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Cherokee won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Shoals Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Vina, they will also get right back to it: they'll take on Tharptown at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Vina is facing Tharptown at the right time seeing as Tharptown is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
