Baseball Recap: Rogers Finds Home Field Redemption Against Classical

There's no place like home for Rogers, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 6-0 margin over the Classical Purple on Friday. The Vikings not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since May 28, 2024.

Cole Milburn was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 1.5 stolen bases per game. Darren Carter was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

The win got Rogers back to even at 2-2. As for Classical, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rogers will take on Middletown at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Classical, they will challenge Woonsocket at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Villa Novans will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Purple surely won't give up without a fight.
