Volleyball Recap: Raymond Central Comes Up Short

Raymond Central suffered their biggest loss since September 11th on Tuesday. They came up short against the Milford Eagles, falling 3-0. If the Mustangs were looking for revenge after losing 3-2 to the Eagles when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Raymond Central was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the third set very close. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-16, 25-22.

Izabella Lubischer paced Raymond Central's offense, picking up 12 kills. Lubischer got some help from Savannah Masek and her 25 assists. Peyton Niemeyer controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Milford was led to victory by Libbie Reil and Adalyn Cisneros. Reil had nine digs and six assists, while Cisneros had seven digs and two aces. That's the most digs Cisneros has posted over her last ten contests.

This is the second loss in a row for Raymond Central and nudges their season record down to 7-9. As for Milford, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 13-1.

Raymond Central didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Seward on the 25th. As for Milford, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Lincoln Northwest on the 25th.
