Basketball Game Preview: Corliss Trojans vs. Harlan Falcons

Corliss hasn't had much luck against Harlan recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. After both having extra time off, both will dust off their jerseys to take on one another at 5:00 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Corliss is headed into Wednesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game last Friday. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 30-25 heartbreaker at the hands of Horizon Science Academy-Southwest.

Meanwhile, Harlan didn't have quite enough to beat Collins last Friday and fell 2-0. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 618th, while the Warriors are ranked 302nd).

Harlan has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only 1.67 points. As for Corliss, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8.
