Volleyball Recap: Churubusco Takes a Loss

Churubusco managed to slip by Lakeland the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Eagles lost 3-0 to the Lakers on Tuesday. The Eagles just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.

While Churubusco ultimately came up short, they really made Lakeland work, particularly in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 25-19, 25-12.

Despite the loss, Churubusco saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Alyssa Marks had ten assists and six digs.

Churubusco's defeat dropped their record down to 7-18. As for Lakeland, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-11.

Churubusco wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 loss against Fairfield on the 9th. As for Lakeland, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Lakewood Park Christian on the 9th.
