Softball Recap: Tuscaloosa Christian Comes Up Short

Tuscaloosa Christian lost against Tuscaloosa Home Educators back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Tuscaloosa Christian fell just short of Tuscaloosa Home Educators by a score of 5-4. Tuscaloosa Christian has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Olivia Fondren was huge no matter where she played even without the win. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off five hits. Fondren was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Fondren wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Allie McCrory, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-4. Madelyn Nelson also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Tuscaloosa Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Tuscaloosa Home Educators, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-4.

Coming up, Tuscaloosa Christian will host Tabernacle at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Warriors will need to watch out since the Torches have now posted at least ten runs in their last three games. Tuscaloosa Home Educators does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
