Baseball Recap: Bogue Chitto Triumphs

Bogue Chitto won the last time they faced West Lincoln and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Bobcats came out on top against the Bears by a score of 7-3. With that victory, the Bobcats brought their scoring average up to 6.1 runs per game.

Tripp McCaffrey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits and racked up 15 Ks.

On the hitting side, Bogue Chitto let Tucker Kyzar and Noah Magee run wild. Kyzar scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3, while Magee scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. Kyzar has become a key player for Bogue Chitto: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 4-7 otherwise. Alex Michael Roberts also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Bogue Chitto has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for West Lincoln, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-5.

Bogue Chitto will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bears: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
