Softball Recap: Juan Diego Catholic Has No Trouble Against Millard

Juan Diego Catholic was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Millard on Friday. The Juan Diego Catholic Soaring Eagle were the clear victor by a 13-1 margin over the Millard Eagles. The Soaring Eagle's hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Juan Diego Catholic let Oaklee Thomas and Sarah Fiore run wild. Thomas went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs, while Fiore went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. The dominant performance also gave Fiore a new career-high in doubles (two). Avie Hernandez was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.

Juan Diego Catholic always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .647. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Millard only posted an OBP of .294.

The win got Juan Diego Catholic back to even at 2-2. As for Millard, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Coming up, Juan Diego Catholic will head out to challenge Dixie at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Millard, they will head out on the road to take on Juab at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
