Baseball Recap: Cleveland Takes a Loss

Cleveland was the 9-7 winner over Roosevelt when they last played one another on Wednesday, but their luck changed this time around. The Warriors fell just short of the Roughriders by a score of 4-3 on Friday.

Arlo Copony put in work while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over 6.1 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Copony wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ezra Oster, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Cleveland has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season. As for Roosevelt, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-17.
