League recap: O'Dell races to league-leading run for Douglas County West

Douglas County West's Roger O'Dell recorded the longest rushing play in C1 District 1 this season in his game against Arlington last week. O'Dell ran for 80 yards on the play and finished with 181 on the day as his team lost to the Eagles.

Arlington extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Douglas County West, 56-23. The win marks fifth in a row for the Steven Gubbels' team.

Gage Hartline was a key player and the best on defense this week as Fort Calhoun topped Concordia. He recorded 3 fumbles and grabbed 1 sacks.

O'Dell was a passing and rushing force as Brant Loewe's team fell to the Eagles.

Riley Grosse-Rhode put up the best numbers through the air as the Pioneers bested the Mustangs. He finished with a total of 2 completions for 18 yards and 1 touchdown. Grosse-Rhode's favorite target this week was Tyler Pace, who caught 2 passes for 27 yards.

Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Concordia's Tanner Torosian and Ben Fletcher have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-0 quarterback Torosian has thrown for 956 yards this season, while Fletcher has 33 catches for 481 yards. Jonathan Smailys from Arlington leads the league in rushing with 1,035 yards.

Boys Town fell to Bishop Neumann 60-14 last week, the largest margin of any game.
