Volleyball Recap: Farmington Takes a Loss

Farmington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Clearfield Falcons. Phoenix fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Falcons since Thursday.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Farmington sadly wound up on the wrong side. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 17-25, 25-20, 24-26, 15-12.

Ava Walton paced Farmington's offense, picking up ten kills. Walton were helped by Kylee Day and Kinsley Glover, who contributed 14 assists each. Finally, Walton was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high six blocks.

Farmington's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Clearfield, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Farmington didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-2 defeat against Viewmont on the 19th. As for Clearfield, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against Logan on the 19th.
