Basketball Recap: Charlotte Christian Takes a Loss

Charlotte Christian fought the good fight in their overtime match against Charlotte Latin on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took an 81-75 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Charlotte Latin Hawks. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Thursday (62), the Knights still had to take the loss.

Despite the loss, Charlotte Christian still got an impressive performance from Eric Lyon, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 11 boards. The dominant performance gave Lyon a new career-high in rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Solomon, who went 6 of 13 en route to 14 points.

Charlotte Christian has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season. As for Charlotte Latin, they now have a winning record of 11-10.

Charlotte Christian will be playing in front of their home fans against Covenant Day at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Charlotte Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.4 points per game this season. As for Charlotte Latin, they will head out to square off against Cannon at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Cannon's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
