Basketball Recap: Hamilton Comes Up Short

Hamilton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They lost to the Fort Wayne Canterbury Cavaliers at home by a 48-30 margin. The Marines were not able to make up for their loss to the Cavaliers from their previous meeting back in January of 2024.

Fort Wayne Canterbury was led to victory by Reed Hayes and Aran Padmalingam. Hayes went 6 for 8 on his way to 14 points and five rebounds, while Padmalingam posted 12 points along with five assists and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Hayes, who earned five points and seven boards.

Hamilton's defeat dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Fort Wayne Canterbury, they pushed their record up to 6-8 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hamilton will challenge Eastside at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hamilton is facing Eastside at the right time seeing as Eastside is stuck on a 15-game losing streak. Fort Wayne Canterbury has already played their next game (against Fort Wayne Wayne), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
