Basketball Game Preview: Albany/Monticello vs. River Valley Blackhawks

Albany/Monticello are taking a road trip to take on the River Valley Blackhawks at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. River Valley took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Albany/Monticello, who comes in off a win.

Albany/Monticello will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two points last Saturday, then bounced right back against Shullsburg on Friday. Albany/Monticello walked away with a 62-52 win over Shullsburg. Given Albany/Monticello's advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 27th, while Shullsburg is ranked 95th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

River Valley might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 52-41 to Lancaster, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Blackhawks haven't had much luck with the Flying Arrows recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

The victory made it two in a row for Albany/Monticello and bumps their season record up to 22-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.0 points over those games. As for River Valley, they now have a losing record of 11-12.
