Basketball Game Preview: Mooresville Pioneers vs. Westfield Shamrocks

The Mooresville Pioneers are taking a road trip to face off against the Westfield Shamrocks at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Mooresville turned things around against Parke Heritage on Saturday. They secured a 62-58 W over the Wolves.

Mooresville got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Chris Thompson-Moore out in front who went 6 for 8 on his way to 15 points. The dominant performance gave Thompson-Moore a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Aj Defur, who went 5 of 12 en route to 16 points.

Meanwhile, Westfield faced Fishers in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. Westfield fell just short of Fishers by a score of 67-64. The Shamrocks have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second loss in a row.

The win got Mooresville back to even at 9-9. As for Westfield, their defeat ended a 19-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 12-3.
