Basketball Game Preview: Vidalia Indians vs. Woodville-Tompkins Wolverines

The Vidalia Indians will challenge the Woodville-Tompkins Wolverines at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Vidalia took a loss when they played away from home last Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They walked away with a 49-39 win over Long County. Given the Indians' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 118th, while the Blue Tide are ranked 283rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Woodville-Tompkins got their first taste of in-conference action this week and they started things off strong. They took down Savannah Christian 49-34 on Friday.

Vidalia pushed their record up to 12-4 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.8 points per game. As for Woodville-Tompkins, they now have a winning record of 8-7.

Vidalia was able to grind out a solid win over Woodville-Tompkins in their previous matchup back in February of 2022, winning 56-48. The rematch might be a little tougher for Vidalia since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
