Basketball Game Preview: Elysian Fields Yellowjackets vs. Gary Bobcats

Elysian Fields is 0-4 against Gary since December of 2019 but things could change on Friday. The Yellowjackets will welcome the Bobcats at 8:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Friday, Elysian Fields was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 60-56 to Beckville.

Meanwhile, Gary was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 45-39 to Timpson. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Bobcats came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 323rd, while the Bears are ranked 917th).

Gary's defeat dropped their record down to 15-6. As for Elysian Fields, their loss dropped their record down to 10-4.

Elysian Fields might still be hurting after the 48-25 defeat they got from Gary when the teams last played back in January of 2025. Can the Yellowjackets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
