Softball Recap: Bradley Central Triumphs

Bradley Central won against Red Bank last Tuesday with nine runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. Bradley Central had just enough and edged out the Ooltewah Owls 9-8. The win continues a trend for the Bears in their matchups with the Owls: they've now won nine in a row.

Kaylee Callahan made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up six earned (and two unearned) runs off nine hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, Maryah Greenwood was excellent, scoring a run while going 3-for-5. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Lynlee Hodge, who scored a run while going 2-for-5.

Bradley Central now has a winning record of 6-5-1. As for Ooltewah, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-3.

Bradley Central wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 12-2 loss against Girls Prep on the 21st. As for Ooltewah, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 13-5 victory against Harriman on the 22nd.
