Softball Recap: Oxford Academy Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

After flying high against Portola on Saturday, Oxford Academy came back down to earth. The Patriots fell 7-4 to the Pioneer Titans on Tuesday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Danelia Paniagua made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Daniela Perez, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs.

Oxford Academy's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-6. As for Pioneer, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Pioneer beat Oxford Academy by a score of 11-7 on Friday.
