Sebastian River took a three-set loss the last time they faced off against South Fork, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Sharks had just enough and edged out the Bulldogs 3-2 on Thursday. Winning may never get old, but the Sharks sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.

Sebastian River was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (108-99), but they still managed to win. The final score came out to 19-25, 26-24, 14-25, 25-22, 15-12.

Danielle Primavera was a one-woman wrecking crew as she had 32 assists and 13 digs. Those 32 assists gave her a new career-high. Taygen Ramos was another key player, getting 12 digs.

Sebastian River was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least eight aces in three consecutive matches.

Sebastian River's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 6-2. As for South Fork, the defeat snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 9-3 record.

Coming up, Sebastian River will host Central at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for South Fork, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Circle Christian on the 12th.
