Basketball Recap: Jack Gross and Will Penkert Secure Win for B O L D

B O L D lost to Melrose back in February of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The B O L D Warriors walked away with a 62-53 win over the Melrose Dutchmen.

Leading B O L D to victory were Will Penkert and Jack Gross. Penkert went 8 of 16 en route to 24 points and three steals, while Gross went 7 of 15 on his way to 20 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. Penkert's evening made it eight games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Hudson Vosika, who posted seven points and four steals.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: B O L D was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

The victory got B O L D back to even at 4-4. As for Melrose, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.

B O L D will take on Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. B O L D has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 236 points over their last three matches. As for Melrose, they will head out to face off against Sauk Centre at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
