It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Ashland ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Ladysmith Lumberjacks 5-4. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Oredockers as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Ashland's win bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Ladysmith, their defeat was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-16.
