Soccer Game Preview: Princeton vs. Eastern Wayne

Princeton is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Eastern Wayne is on a six-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Bulldogs will host the Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Princeton is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering North Johnston just ended the team's eight-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 4-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers. Macie Allison was hit with a yellow card, which may have had some impact on her (and the team's) ability to make aggressive plays.

Meanwhile, Eastern Wayne kept a clean sheet against Goldsboro on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Cougars. Eastern Wayne might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by three goals or more this season.

Taylor Waters and Akayla (Kay) Rodriguez scored all three of Eastern Wayne's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 35 goals.

Eastern Wayne's victory bumped their record up to 11-2-1. As for Princeton, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 9-2.

Princeton beat Eastern Wayne by a goal when the teams last played two weeks ago, winning 2-1. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
