Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Grant Morrison and Thomas Reed Lead Charleston Collegiate to Victory

On Monday, the Charleston Collegiate Sundevils earned a 71-59 victory over the Dorchester Academy Raiders. The Sundevils pushed the score to 58-36 by the end of the third, a deficit the Raiders cut but never quite recovered from.

Leading Charleston Collegiate to victory were Thomas Reed and Grant Morrison. Reed went 9 of 18 on his way to 27 points in addition to seven boards and five steals, while Morrison went 7 for 16 on his way to 19 points along with eight assists and six steals. The game was Morrison's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Clayton Smith, who posted eight points and five rebounds.

Charleston Collegiate has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. As for Dorchester Academy, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Faith Christian the next time they take the court. Dorchester Academy will host Faith Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Charleston Collegiate will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
