Baseball Recap: West's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against East Bakersfield, West was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the North Stars, sneaking past 12-10. Considering the Vikings' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

West let Josh Camacho and Eric Lleyva run wild. Camacho went 3-for-5 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run, while Lleyva scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Those four RBI gave Camacho a new career-high.

West always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .585. They are 2-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

West moved to 3-8 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak. As for North, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West will square off against South at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. South has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.91 runs per game on average), something West will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for North, they will be taking part in a tournament against Bishop Union at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. North's pitchers better be ready for this one: Bishop Union has averaged an impressive 10.3 runs per game this season.
