Softball Preview: Southern Choctaw Indians vs. Marengo Panthers

Southern Choctaw is a perfect 5-0 against Marengo since April of 2024 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Indians will host the Panthers at 12:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Southern Choctaw has seven straight victories, Marengo has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Southern Choctaw gave up the first runs on Monday, but they didn't let that get them down. They put the hurt on Washington County with a sharp 19-10 win. Considering the Indians have won 12 games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

In other batting news, Southern Choctaw got a massive performance out of Keri McGee, who went 2-for-4 with five stolen bases, five runs, and one triple. Those five stolen bases gave McGee a new career-high. Eriah Dunigan was another key player, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Marengo fell victim to Sweet Water and their airtight pitching crew last Tuesday. They lost 23-0 to the Bulldogs.
