Softball Game Preview: Ridgevue Warhawks vs. Owyhee Storm

Ridgevue is 0-3 against Owyhee since March of 2023 but things could change on Thursday. The Warhawks will take on the Storm at 6:00 p.m. Ridgevue has given up an average of 17.1 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Ridgevue is headed into Thursday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 25th straight game dating back to last season on Tuesday. They came up short against Timberline, falling 26-3.

Meanwhile, Owyhee strolled into their game on Tuesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Borah a 12-0 shutout. The Storm might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Owyhee got a massive performance out of Alaina Bryant, who fired off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-3. Those two home runs gave Bryant a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of McKenna Schab, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

Owyhee was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .538. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .308 or higher in four consecutive games.

Ridgevue's loss dropped their record down to 0-17. As for Owyhee, they pushed their record up to 20-0 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Ridgevue might still be hurting after the 14-0 defeat they got from Owyhee when the teams last played back in March. Can the Warhawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
