With a playoff win on the line, St. Xavier rose to the challenge on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Trinity Shamrocks with a sharp 3-0 win. Winning may never get old, but the Tigers sure are getting used to it with their 26th in a row.
Briley Codey paced St. Xavier's offense, picking up ten kills. Codey got some help from Josh Walsh and his 21 assists. Codey was also solid from the service line: he led the team with two aces.
St. Xavier's victory bumped their record up to 26-1. As for Trinity, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 16-6 record.
Looking ahead, St. Xavier will face off against Oldham County at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Trinity does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
