Basketball Game Preview: Silver Creek Raptors vs. Longmont Trojans

Silver Creek is on a six-game streak of home losses, Longmont a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck will change on Thursday. The Silver Creek Raptors will host the Longmont Trojans at 5:30 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Silver Creek is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Legacy on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Silver Creek was outmatched by Legacy and fell 65-22. The Raptors were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-10.

Meanwhile, Longmont came up short against Erie on Tuesday and fell 37-24. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 162nd, while the Tigers are ranked 44th).

Longmont's loss dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Silver Creek, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-16.

Silver Creek lost to Longmont at home by a decisive 46-30 margin when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can Silver Creek avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
