Volleyball Recap: Herbert Hoover Takes Down Shady Spring in a Playoff Battle

With a playoff win on the line, Herbert Hoover rose to the challenge on Thursday. They skirted past the Shady Spring Tigers 3-2. The victory continues a trend for the Huskies in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won four in a row.

Herbert Hoover got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Braelyn Adkins out in front who had 37 digs and one assist. Those 37 digs gave Adkins a new career-high. Olivia Huddleston was another key player, getting 20 digs and two aces.

Herbert Hoover was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in eight consecutive contests.

Herbert Hoover's record is now 56-8-1. As for Shady Spring, they moved to 40-13-1 with that loss, which also ended their nine-match winning streak.

As of now, neither Herbert Hoover nor the Tigers have any future games scheduled.
