Baseball Game Preview: Madison-Grant Argylls vs. Tipton Blue Devils

The Madison-Grant Argylls will square off against the Tipton Blue Devils at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Madison-Grant is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.

Oak Hill hit Madison-Grant with a six-run sixth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Argylls took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Golden Eagles.

Harry Brooks and OJ Blackwell did some serious damage despite the final result: Brooks got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI, while Blackwell got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Tipton let Sheridan stack four runs on them in the sixth inning on Saturday but luckily Tipton prevailed anyway. The Blue Devils came out on top against the Blackhawks by a score of 7-4. That looming 7-4 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Blue Devils yet this season.

The team relied heavily on Evan Coe, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2025. Nick Nasser also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Tipton's win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-8. As for Madison-Grant, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.

Tipton's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Madison-Grant has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .433. It's a different story for Tipton, though, as they've only averaged .354. Will they be able to contain Madison-Grant's hitters?

Madison-Grant got the 'W' when the teams last played back in April of 2025 against Tipton by a conclusive 11-5 score. Will the Argylls repeat their success, or do the Blue Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
