While Shelby County's victory against Central of Clay County wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Shelby County Wildcats skirted past the Central of Clay County Volunteers 7-6. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Danslen Connell (2029) was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Kaydence Connell (2026) also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Shelby County's record is now 7-2. As for Central of Clay County, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-8.

Shelby County will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Sylacauga at 4:30 p.m. on April 3rd. As for Central of Clay County, they will take on Ranburne in a tournament on Saturday.
