Basketball Recap: Bleckley County Royals vs. Dublin Fighting Irish

Bleckley County was the 44-39 winner over Dublin when they last played one another last Tuesday, but their luck changed this time around. The Royals took a 47-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fighting Irish on Monday.

Despite the loss, Bleckley County saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jason McNulty shot 62% from the field to rack up 20 points in addition to seven boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Marty Beck, who posted eight points.

Dublin's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Quan Lovett, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 24 rebounds. Lovett is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last 15 games he's played. Raylin Harrell also deserves some recognition as he pulled down his first board of the season.

Bleckley County's defeat dropped their record down to 10-16. As for Dublin, their victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-13 and their overall record up to 5-20.

Bleckley County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Dublin, they have already played their next contest, a 67-57 win against Central on the 17th.
