Basketball Recap: Mission Comes Up Short

After flying high against Juarez-Lincoln last Monday, Mission came back down to earth. The Eagles fell 46-41 to the Roma Gladiators on Tuesday. The Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Gladiators earlier this season, when they won 49-35.

Mission's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 15-7. As for Roma, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-7 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Mission is set to take on their familiar foe Palmview at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Roma will challenge rival Martin at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
