Basketball Recap: The Pilgrim Academy Drops Season-High Score on Gloucester County Christian

The Pilgrim Academy scored the most points they've had this season on Saturday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of the Gloucester County Christian Conquerors by a score of 41-38. The Pioneers have struggled against the Conquerors recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Several Pioneers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mia Robinson, who went 6 of 14 on her way to 17 points and three steals. The dominant performance gave Robinson a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Brittin, who posted eight points in addition to six assists and three steals.

Even though they lost, The Pilgrim Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 11 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

The Pilgrim Academy now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Gloucester County Christian, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. The Pilgrim Academy will host Pinelands Regional at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Gloucester County Christian, they will welcome Atlantic Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
