The Broad Run Spartans will challenge the Briar Woods Falcons at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Having struggled with five losses in a row, Broad Run turned things around against Freedom on Thursday. They walked away with a 6-2 win over the Eagles.

Anna Weltens made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run.
In other batting news, Riley Hulcher was excellent, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs. Another player making a difference was Annie Market, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Briar Woods beat Stone Bridge 6-1 on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Falcons.
Like Broad Run, Briar Woods also got a great game from a two-way player: Caprice Bohmer. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). Bohmer was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Natalie Posusney, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season.
Briar Woods' victory bumped their record up to 11-5. As for Broad Run, the win got them back to even at 8-8.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Broad Run has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Briar Woods struggles in that department as they've been averaging 12.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
