Football Game Preview: Wilton Warriors vs. Bunnell Bulldogs + How To Watch

The Wilton Warriors will square off against the Bunnell Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Wilton is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They breezed past Torrington to the tune of 48-6. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Warriors' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut football rankings (they are ranked seventh, while the Raiders are ranked 54th).

Meanwhile, Bunnell entered their tilt with Fitch on Wednesday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They blew past the Falcons, posting a 42-6 victory.

A big part of Bunnell's win came down to the chemistry between Jake Garrigan and his top target Keyshon Zimmerman. Garrigan threw for 118 yards and one TD while completing 77.8% of his passes while Zimmerman picked up 31 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Bunnell was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 332 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 180 rushing yards in six consecutive games.

Bunnell didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Marios Charitopoulos and Robert Drish III. Carson Clarke was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making eight total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Wilton's victory bumped their record up to 10-1. As for Bunnell, their win bumped their record up to 9-2.

Everything came up roses for Wilton against Bunnell in their previous matchup back in October of 2019, as the team secured a 45-14 victory. In that matchup, the Warriors amassed a halftime lead of 31-6, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Monday.
