Basketball Recap: Vero Beach Takes a Loss

Vero Beach was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Centennial Eagles, falling 61-38. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 386th, while the Eagles are ranked 88th).

Centennial's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jada Parson, who posted 32 points. Those 32 points gave Parson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jailyn Williams, who put up 18 points.

Vero Beach's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Centennial, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Vero Beach wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 44-23 defeat against Jensen Beach on the 12th. As for Centennial, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 64-34 win against Palm Beach Lakes on the 12th.
