Valley dropped their record down to 11-11 on Friday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Albuquerque Academy Chargers, falling 12-1. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Vikings couldn't push the score so high this time.

Valley saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Elias Saiz, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. Saiz is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

As for Albuquerque Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-9 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by eight runs or more this season.

On Albuquerque Academy's side, Matthew Delaney spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up ten Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ryan Williams, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Albuquerque Academy's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 7-9 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of EJ Gallardo, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Valley will welcome Belen at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Albuquerque Academy, they will host Hope Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Chargers will need to watch out since the Huskies have now posted at least ten runs in their last four contests.
