Volleyball Recap: Marshall Gets the Win

Marshall won the last time they faced Cambridge and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Cardinals came out on top against the Bluejays by a score of 3-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cardinals.

Marshall had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-15, 25-17, 25-18.

Their offense was headlined by Carly Checky and Summer Hellenbrand, who picked up 14 kills apiece. They got some help from Ava Neuberger and her 39 assists. Checky was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

When it comes to explaining why Cambridge lost, don't look at Ava Williams. Despite the final result, she had 21 digs and one assist. Williams has been hot recently, having posted 19 or more digs the last four times she's played.

Marshall's win bumped their record up to 19-9. As for Cambridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 20-10.
