Basketball Recap: Easley Comes Up Short

Easley lost against Greenville back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Easley Green Wave took a 50-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Greenville Red Raiders.

Greenville's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Miracle Cheeks, who went 7 of 13 on her way to 22 points and three steals. That's the most points Cheeks has posted since back in November of 2024. Ava Owens was another key player, putting up ten points along with seven rebounds and six assists.

Easley has traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-16 record this season. As for Greenville, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-9.

Easley has already played their next matchup, a 40-31 loss against Woodmont on the 4th. As for Greenville, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 56-35 win against Mauldin on the 4th.
