Volleyball Recap: Addenbrooke Classical Academy Comes Up Short

Addenbrooke Classical Academy came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Alameda Pirates, falling 3-0. The loss continues a trend for the Mustangs in their meetings with the Pirates: they've now lost five in a row.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Alameda scored at least 20 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-20, 25-22.

Addenbrooke Classical Academy's offense was headlined by Charlie Major and Corbin Burge, who picked up eight kills apiece. They got some help from Caedmon Summers and his 15 assists. Burge was also solid from the service line: he led the team with two aces.

Addenbrooke Classical Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-16. As for Alameda, their win bumped their record up to 8-10.

Addenbrooke Classical Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against DSST: Conservatory Green on the 26th. As for Alameda, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against D'Evelyn on the 28th.
