Recap: Four Corners Coyotes vs. Lakeland Christian Vikings
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Four Corners Coyotes walked away with it. They secured a 65-60 W over the Vikings on Monday. Four Corners' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Karina Cruz continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 27 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Four Corners' points. Danielys Pena Ponce was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Lakeland Christian lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Collette Zavada, who went 7 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 25 points and 5 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Zavada has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Isa Cano, who scored 16 points along with five assists and two blocks.
The victory got Four Corners back to even at 9-9. As for Lakeland Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-9.
Four Corners' road trip will continue as they head out to face Seffner Christian on February 7th. Seffner Christian will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Four Corners surely won't give up without a fight. Lakeland Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
