Soccer Game Preview: Orchard Farm vs. Clayton

The Orchard Farm Eagles are taking a road trip to take on the Clayton Greyhounds at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Clayton took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Orchard Farm, who comes in off a win.

Orchard Farm took a five-goal defeat the last time they faced off against Fort Zumwalt North, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Eagles skirted past the Panthers 2-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for Orchard Farm.

Meanwhile, Clayton managed to keep up with Parkway West until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Greyhounds came up short against the Longhorns, falling 4-1. While losing is never fun, Clayton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri soccer rankings (they are ranked 36th, while Parkway West are ranked fourth).

Clayton has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-8-1 record this season. As for Orchard Farm, their win bumped their record up to 7-3.

Orchard Farm suffered a grim 5-1 defeat to Clayton when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
