Basketball Recap: Arkadelphia Comes Up Short

Arkadelphia easily dispatched West Memphis on Monday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Badgers fell just short of the Heber Springs Panthers by a score of 67-64 on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Badgers of the 61-52 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2022.

Heber Springs found their leader in sophomore Lea Monk, who shot 73% from the field en route to 24 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Monk has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Ada Choate, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and ten boards.

Arkadelphia's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Heber Springs, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Arkadelphia has already played their next matchup, a 57-33 win against Star City on the 20th. As for Heber Springs, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 61-35 victory against Mount St. Mary Academy on the 20th.
