Baseball Recap: Fort Hill Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Fort Hill hadn't done well against Northern Garrett recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Sentinels came out on top against the Huskies by a score of 6-3. Winning may never get old, but the Sentinels sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Coye Resh and Bobby Brauer did most of the damage at the plate: Resh scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Brauer scored two runs while going 2-for-4. What's more, Brauer posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Jacob VanMeter also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

They weren't the only one making solid contact: Fort Hill kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Northern Garrett only managed eight hits.

Fort Hill pushed their record up to 5-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games. As for Northern Garrett, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

Fort Hill didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 3-2 victory against Hancock on the 9th. As for Northern Garrett, they have also already played their next match, a 6-1 win against Allegany on the 9th.
