Preview: Kenston Forest Kavaliers vs. Fuqua Falcons
The Kenston Forest Kavaliers will look to defend their home field on Thursday against the Fuqua Falcons at 6:30 p.m. Kenston Forest will be strutting in after a win while Fuqua will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Saturday, Kenston Forest faced Richmond Christian in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Kenston Forest breezed by Richmond Christian on the road to the tune of 72-32. The result was nothing new for Kenston Forest, who have now won five games by 22 points or more so far this season.
Kenston Forest got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Noah Cole out in front who rushed for 158 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries, and also threw for 255 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 10.6 yards per attempt. Cole was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 50 yards. Zain Queen was another key contributor, gaining 286 total yards and three touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Fuqua's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight loss. They were outmatched by Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot at home and fell 45-6.
Kenston Forest's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Fuqua, their loss was their seventh straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 1-7.
Kenston Forest was taken down by Fuqua 66-28 when the teams last played back in September of 2015. Can Kenston Forest avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
