Baseball Recap: Nevada Comes Up Short

Nevada blew Greene County out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Friday Greene County got their revenge. The Cubs fell just short of the Rams by a score of 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Cubs have suffered against the Rams since June 24, 2019.

This is the second loss in a row for Nevada and nudges their season record down to 4-2. Even worse, they were so close both times: the defeats came by an average of only 1.5 runs. As for Greene County, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Nevada is set to challenge their familiar foe Prairie City-Monroe at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Greene County will take on rival Roland-Story at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The timing isn't great for the Rams: they have been struggling with four straight losses at home dating back to last season, while the Norsemen have snatched up four consecutive wins on the road.
